Love or Infatuation
I heard my 11 year old neighbor tell me that he was in love. The first time I heard I thought he was playing a prank. But later I knew he was serious, and so thought it would be better to discuss it with him.. I called him home and asked him about his girl friend. He described about her and said that she too liked him. I took him out and asked to select a t-shirt for himself. We bought what he chose and then took him to his favorite food joint. He ate to his heart’s content. After he was done, I asked him which did he like the most, whether it was the t-shirt or the food. He said it was a funny question, because he liked both and he couldn’t zero on one. I said” that’s it boy, you are not in love, but I would call it mere attraction. Attraction is human psychology; don’t convert a healthy relationship into love. Just be friends with everyone ad you still have time to decide!” He did nod his head but I do not know what he is up to these days! I wonder how fast paced have we become, that we fall in love at 11 years!
