Marriage changes lifestyle or does it

Marriage is just a part of life, but many take lot of time to decide whether they want to tie the knot or not! The reason is simple, marriage could change one’s lifestyle. For example, a married man has to return home every night for supper and cannot evade the responsibilities that come with marriage! Many have woken to this fact and a recent survey among youngsters suggests that in the years to come we would find marriage only in the dictionary! Is it surprising?! But the fact is many don’t want to tie the knot for fear of changing lifestyle and are opting for live- in relationships! Is this trend good?! I am no one to answer it since people who make decisions know what they are doing. But I strongly feel that a bit of adjustments here and there could make wonders in marriage. Good parenting is necessary for kids to grow up in an intellectual way, and all this can happen in marriage. I accept that marriage does change a bit of lifestyle but can’t we change it to suit all of us. Do we evade responsibilities in professional life, no isn’t it?! Then why when it comes to personal life?! Marriage may reduce the risk of lot of diseases, and a happily married person will climb the ladders of success faster. These are not my opinions, but time tested surveys and philosophies! Marriage changes lifestyle but the change must be worth!

Lifestyle Medicine

Diseases are so common these days. We spend a lot of money in curing it and imagine the amount of time one has to spend to meet the doctor! In addition to burning a hole in the pocket, one also has the fear of side effects on using the medicines. I have always questioned wasn’t there a better way to treat the diseases. The question was not the money but treatment which will do away with drugs and be integrated into our daily life to prevent further attacks. There was an answer and that is lifestyle medicine. It is the use of lifestyle interventions in the treatment and management of disease. Such interventions include diet (nutrition), exercise, stress management, smoking cessation, and a variety of other non-drug modalities. It has been proved that this is an effective way because it poses no risks and has absolutely side effects. If you argued that it was a slow process, imagine living life free of diseases! Isn’t that wonderful?! I would vouch for such a treatment on any day than trying to spend a few thousands to obtain a quick fix solution. An important issue to be taken care is sometimes it is necessary to integrate lifestyle medicine with the prescribed medication. Though we still take in drugs, the advantage here is the medication will be gradually reduced depending on the improvements one makes. It’s time to lead a healthy life, isn’t it?.
