Housekeeping

Housekeeping is defined as managing of domestic concerns. Though it has been concerned as a women’s domain, things are changing. More men are getting interested in housekeeping. It is a demanding profession, since marinating a house includes everything from cleaning, cooking, dusting, laundry and so on. Though there are a number of gadgets these days, synchronizing the work is very important. A good house keeper will be good at time management. Imagine the plight of our ancestors who never had the sophisticated gadgets to help them! There is a 5S in housekeeping, which is derived from Japanese. They are Seiri (Sorting), Seiton(Setting in order, Straightening, Simplifying), Seiso(Sweeping, Shining, Systematic cleaning) , Seiketsu (Standardizing), Shitsuke (Sustaining). This 5s concept has been utilized in the management domain and can be incorporated into housekeeping. The first 3 components of the 5S housekeeping program or system can be used anytime, even before the 5S program is instituted. The 3S are as follows. They are Seiri, Seiton and Seiso. Large companies have to audit their housekeeping and hence prepare a checklist which contains the parameters to audit them. Thus housekeeping is a challenging but an interesting job! It requires lot of patience and oodles of sincerity!

Alcohol can make you absent minded

Drinks may energize you and even make you feel like a king. But the fact is alcohol can be very dangerous. In addition to causing liver failures, cancer and other diseases, it creates memory loss. It is caused by consuming alcohol in larger quantities and not in smaller amounts. It absorbs the information contained in the tissues, thus making a person absent minded. This type of memory loss means a person has difficulty remembering new information, so the learning process takes longer. It also reduces a person’s higher-level thinking (the ability to think in abstract terms). People who consume lot of alcohol can experience blackouts because the amount of alcohol prevents memory formation. It has been suggested that people who consume high quantities better rush to the doctor to prevent the thinking cap from going to dogs! Smoking also causes such effects and hence can be prevented from usage. Though many consider smoking and drinking to be a symbol of status, one should realize their effects and keep away from them. We are responsible for our health and we should take care of it. So it is better to reduce the intake of alcohol, and then eventually stop drinking it!

Let’s redefine our life

Life has a special meaning to each one of us. What is it that we want out of it? A few want to make money, a few others study, and a few others want fame and so on. But the ultimate aim of life is to be happy, isn’t it. Happiness depends on different factors such as money, health, education, family and so on. Each person can list out various reasons to be happy. Can we sum up all these reasons, Can there be one term which defines them all, Can there be one factor which all would agree upon?. Yes, and that is lifestyle. Lifestyle specifies different rules to live our life. One can make his own rules and once that happens one can obviously be on cloud nine. Thus our lifestyle opens up avenues to be happy. And the best part is we define our lifestyle! This is my blog where i share my views about different aspects of lifestyle and thus open up discussions on trendy, healthy, and new lifestyles.
